Marlin Steel Wire Products is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support the operation of our manufacturing equipment and facility systems. We need a hands-on mechanic who can jump in, solve problems, and take pride in keeping equipment operating safely and reliably. This role is ideal for someone with industrial maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting mechanical issues, working with their hands, and contributing to a team-focused manufacturing environment.   Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Diagnose and correct mechanical issues involving bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains, belts, rollers, shafts, valves, cylinders, and related industrial equipment. Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support requests. Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust, and maintain production equipment. Install, repair, and replace machine components and wear parts. Support equipment moves, machine installations, and facility improvement projects. Perform basic fabrication, grinding, drilling, cutting, and repair work as needed. Utilize measuring tools and inspection equipment to verify dimensions and equipment condition. Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair status effectively. Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and PPE standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 2 years of direct industrial maintenance experience required. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment. Ability to identify equipment issues and implement effective repairs. Experience working with motors, bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and other industrial mechanical components. Ability to read and use measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, and micrometers. Basic welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and maintenance teams. Strong safety awareness and commitment to following established procedures. Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Required Personal Tools Employees are expected to provide and maintain a basic set of personal maintenance tools upon hire, including: SAE and metric wrench sets SAE and metric sockets and ratchets Screwdrivers Pliers Adjustable wrenches Allen wrench / hex key sets Tape measure Utility knife Hammer Flashlight or work light Electrical multimeter suitable for industrial troubleshooting Toolbox, tool bag, or tool cart Work Environment This position is based at Marlin Steel Wire Products in Baltimore, Maryland. The role works directly in a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production equipment, plant systems, maintenance personnel, and production teams. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required to support equipment repairs, maintenance projects, and operational needs.
