Manager Electronics Engineering 2: RF & Mixed Signal Design, I&T, and Production Test Support Manager

 

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Engineering & Sciences Baltimore and Partnered Sites (E&S BaPS) is seeking leaders to manage its growing radio frequency (RF) microwave and mixed signal electrical design, troubleshooting, and production support engineering teams. These groups are responsible for architecting, designing, troubleshooting, verifying, and supporting existing and future RF microwave and mixed signal assemblies and Receiver/Exciter (REX) Subsystems. Group skill sets include trading requirements, package and device trade studies and specification, frequency planning, RF budgeting and chain analysis, board and assembly design, controls integration, electromagnetic simulation, data reduction and analysis, design verification, integration and test, and production support of antenna and REX products.

 

This position is a dual role encompassing both people and project/technical leadership.

 

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead an engineering functional group of 10 to 15 engineers including performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning
  • Provide project and technical oversight for activities performed by the group
  • Maintain and ensure application of design processes and guidelines used in the group
  • Develop proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups
  • Support business and functional organization initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector/business unit involvement, and internally funded projects

 

This position is an onsite role, located in Baltimore, MD.

 

This position requires a current active DoD Secret Clearance minimum to start.

 

This position will report to either the REX Subsystems and Hardware or RF Hardware section leads based on alignment of qualifications.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or STEM-related discipline, plus 8 years of experience or a master’s degree plus 6 years of experience in engineering, and/or engineering program/project management.
  • Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience including responsibility as an integrated product team or technical lead
  • Basic understanding of RF electronics at the assembly and/or subsystem levels
  • Must have current active DoD Secret Clearance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent
  • 10 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment
  • Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader
  • Production test support experience for RF and mixed signal assemblies and subsystems
  • RF and mixed signal product design, fabrication, and integration experience including, but not limited to, products in high reliability military applications
  • Current active Top Secretor SAP Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
