Job Summary:

Serves in a trainee capacity receiving orientation, instruction and fact finding fundamental to County planning work; and performs other related duties as required.

Examples of Duties:

Examples of Duties: (The following are examples of duties and are not necessarily descriptive of any one position in this class. The omission of specific duties statements does not preclude management from assigning such duties if such duties are a logical assignment for the position).    

  • Receives orientation and training in the functions of public planning and pertinent research methods and techniques;

  • Under direct supervision, may assist in gathering land use information such as lot size, age of structure, tax valuation, infrastructure requirements concerning public utilities, street conditions, etc.;

  • Extracts and compiles, or verifies designated information from journals, reports, and other resource documents;

  • Assists in the tabulation of data involving the use of statistical concepts and formulae;

  • May assist in the review and analysis of plans, recommendations by other governmental agencies, and/or aspects of development, preservation, or implementation of long and/or short-range program plans;

  • May assist in analyzing and reporting the findings of processed data; and

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Training & Experience:

A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree.

License Requirement:

Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license (Hawaii type 3 or equivalent) and appropriate licenses or certificates as required of the position.
