The Northrop GrummanĀ SkillBridge ProgramĀ is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. TheĀ program is an opportunity for service membersĀ preparing for civilian careersĀ to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days.Ā TheĀ SkillBridgeĀ Program is open to all ranks and experience levels.Ā SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.āÆĀ

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman āĀ Ā SkillBridge ProgramĀ (SkillBridge)Ā utilizingĀ the DoDI guidance forĀ SkillBridge.āÆĀ Through this program, the service-memberĀ will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in anĀ entry to mid-level career path.Ā The serviceĀ memberĀ will be onĀ the jobĀ trainingĀ supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals,Ā Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.āÆĀ Ā
GoalsĀ āĀ Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service.Ā This program is specifically designed to offerĀ hands-onĀ experienceĀ thatĀ resultĀ in the potential toĀ convertĀ to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training.āÆĀ ParticipantsĀ will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.Ā Ā
ObjectivesĀ - Service Members who complete theĀ SkillBridgeĀ program will beĀ highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission āDefining Possibleā on Day 1. This program providesĀ comprehensiveĀ hands-onĀ experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.Ā

Has served at least 180 days on active dutyĀ
Is withinĀ 12 monthsĀ of separation or retirementĀ
Will receive an honorable dischargeĀ
Has taken any service TAPS/TGPSĀ
Has attended orĀ participatedĀ in an ethics brief within the last 12 monthsĀ
Received Unit CommanderĀ (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command)Ā written authorization and approval toĀ participateĀ in SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.Ā

This Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer position requires a blend of Hardware and Software skills, experience with DC, Analog, Digital or RF test & measurement equipment, and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
What Youāll get to Do:
- Understanding design to cost, scope, and schedule.
- Requirements definition
- Design of flexible Hardware & Software test solutions together with a team of experts
- Manufacturing support during the hardware build process
- Integration of Hardware & Software into a functioning system
- Certification with the Quality organization
- System deployment and factory support
- Software maintenance and / or Hardware refresh initiatives.
This requisition may be filled as a Principal Engineer or a Sr. Principal Engineer.
This role is contingent on candidate's ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance and Program Award.
Basic Qualifications Principal Electronics Engineer:
- Bachelors degree plus 5 years of relevant experience; or a Masters degree plus 3 years of relevant experience; or a PhD and 0 years relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams.
- Previous experience in both hardware and software.
- Background and working knowledge in RF, digital or power theory and concepts.
- Experience with test & measurement equipment.
Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer:
- Bachelors degree plus 8 years of relevant experience; or a Masters degree plus 6 years of relevant experience; or a PhD and 3 years relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams.
- Previous experience in both hardware and software.
- Background and working knowledge in RF, digital or power theory and concepts.
- Experience with test & measurement equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A current/active U.S. Government Secret clearance.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline
- Test design and integration background
- Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance.
- Experience in text-based programming (e.g. C /C++, Phyton, etc.)
- Experience with Lab Windows CVI
- Test Stand programming
- Experience with schematic design tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)
- Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory and high-speed digital design
- Familiarity with differential digital interfaces like LVDS - PXI/PXIe and VME bus experience
- Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware
