Expected salary range of $102,600 to $114,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose of Position

The primary responsibility of the Principal CES Project Structuring is to lead the financial analysis necessary to evaluate capital investment opportunities and other energy services and operations transactions. Working in coordination with Sales, Engineering, and other functional teams within the business and broader Corporate functions, along with an extensive network of third-party lenders and investors, the Principal CES Project Structuring utilizes financial modeling expertise, experience in finance, tax, and accounting structuring, and external market research and networking to develop the optimal product offerings to meet our customer's needs and maximize returns. The Principal works in close coordination with Senior Leadership, Commercial leads, Legal and external financiers to develop new commercial and financing strategies and structures to grow originations expand the business through the identification and development of new potential sources of project financing, incentives, rebates, tax credits and deductions and any other source of funding. Also, the Principal manages, coordinates, and reports to Senior Leadership on strategic project funding and commercial initiatives of the business.

 

Primary Duties and Accountabilities

 

  • Lead financial analyses to evaluate and structure capital investment opportunities and energy services and operations transactions, and communicate recommendations.
  • Actively monitors, manages, and optimizes financial performance of CES's financing and operating energy asset portfolios.
  • Prepares financing and commercial agreement documentation in accordance with specific regulatory requirements and contractual requirements.
  • Leads the Distributed Energy's deal approval efforts in concert with Constellation's and Constellation's approval processes and manages relationships with internal functional groups to secure timely input and sign off
  • Establishes and maintains key lender and investor relationships to maximize capital structure flexibility and achieve the lowest cost of capital for funding a project.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement long-term business strategies.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Engineering OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years relevant experience, in lieu of degree 14 years of relevant experience
  • 3+-years experience in energy project finance
  • Strong commercial acumen and credibility and confidence to speak to a customer's C-level decision-makers
  • Prior distributed generation and energy infrastructure transactional experience
  • Working competency with discounted cashflow (DCF) financial modeling and ability to identify project financial viability and risks
  • Strong computer-based analytical skill (e.g. Access, Excel, Power Point, database management)
  • Working familiarity with energy service contracting vehicles and experience with legal review and negotiations
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to various locations

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering and construction practices in energy efficiency retrofit / renovation applications as well as renewable generation and battery energy storage deployment
  • Advanced understanding of distributed energy and energy efficiency market dynamics and trends.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tax equity, capital lease finance, tax-exempt municipal leasing finance, public housing finance, federal agency finance, and commercial and industrial finance
  • Working understanding of tax equity and project finance
