As a Gensler Technical Designer with our team inĀ Baltimore, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will collaborate with your teammates to develop design solutions, as well as coordinate design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of core and shell and interior architecture projects. What You Will DoāÆāÆĀ
Collaborate on base building, interior architecture and interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and management of budgets and schedulesāÆāÆĀ
Design and deliver functional and beautiful spaces for projects within Practice Areas such as:Ā Critical Facilities,Ā Sciences,Ā Office Developers, Workplaces forĀ Technology,Ā Financial Services FirmsĀ andĀ Professional Services Firms,Ā Strategy,Ā Cities and Urban DesignĀ and moreāÆĀ
Coordinate with Interior Designers, Project Architects and Project Managers on delivery of project milestonesāÆāÆĀ
Participate in theĀ selectionĀ and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, lighting, and furniture specificationsāÆāÆĀ
Provide project team coordination for finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for constructionāÆāÆĀ
Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design conceptsāÆāÆĀ
Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, consultants, and fabricators to meet overall project objectivesāÆāÆĀ
Produce graphic presentations including 3D renderings, and construction drawingsāÆĀ
Contribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for constructionāÆ
Provide technical support and documentation during completion and execution of all phases of project workāÆāÆāÆĀ
AssistĀ in managing client expectations, teamĀ communicationĀ and consultant coordinationāÆāÆĀ
Establish andĀ maintainĀ ongoing, productive client relationshipsāÆāÆĀ
Your QualificationsāÆāÆ
Bachelor's degree in ArchitectureĀ from an accredited programāÆāÆĀ
0-3 years of relevant experience with interior architecture and/or ground up building architectural experience (ideally both!)āÆāÆĀ
ProficiencyĀ with Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD + 3-D,Ā Enscape,Ā VRay, Grasshopper,Ā RhinoĀ or other visualization softwareāÆāÆĀ
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or SPEXX a plusāÆāÆĀ
Hand rendering skills to communicate design concepts are a plusāÆāÆĀ
Knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications,Ā colorĀ and materialsāÆāÆĀ
Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideasāÆāÆĀ
Ability to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of developmentāÆāÆĀ
Ability to communicate design ideas and directionāÆāÆĀ
A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentāÆāÆĀ
Organization,Ā communicationĀ and relationship management skillsāÆāÆĀ
Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; If possible, portfolios should include at least one project (especiallyĀ built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard,Ā Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interviewāÆāÆĀ
