Commercial Lighting Project Manager

Shepherd Electric is seeking a highly detail-oriented, customer-focused Commercial Lighting Project Manager to oversee all styles of lighting projects from order placement through final billing. In this role, you will act as the primary customer contact and partner closely with both inside and outside sales, operations, and vendor teams to ensure projects are executed accurately, on time, profitably, and in a strong team environment.​

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of lighting projects, applying strong product and process knowledge with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Own and nurture the customer relationship, providing clear, timely updates throughout the project and coordinating with internal teammates.​
  • Review purchase orders carefully to verify requirements, pricing, and terms and conditions for complete accuracy before processing.​
  • Place orders, track shipments, manage delivery schedules, and ensure precise and timely customer billing.
  • Expedite backorders and resolve customer concerns promptly, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to drive solutions.​
  • Coordinate with vendors, customers, and sales teams on pricing, order placement, returns, claims, and account management.
  • Identify and pursue margin improvement opportunities through vendor negotiations, pricing strategies, and accurate product substitutions.​
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely quotations, and proposals, verifying all details before submission.​
  • Manage project documentation, including submittals, O&M manuals, test reports, and certificates of compliance, maintaining organized and up-to-date records accessible to the team.​
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned, assisting teammates as needed to achieve shared goals.​

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, quotation, or customer service.​
  • Experience in the electrical distribution industry preferred.​
  • High school diploma or GED required.​

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal teams, with an emphasis on collaborative problem-solving.​
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.​
  • Highly organized, exceptionally detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.​
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with results-driven approach, remaining supportive and cooperative with colleagues.​
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, actively contributing to team success and shared objectives.​

Compensation Details: The expected baseΒ salaryΒ for this position is starting at $70,000 annually depending on experience.
