Adapt Integrated Health Care is looking for a qualified Referral Coordinator to join their team in Bandon, OR! This position works Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
The Referral Coordinator strongly committed to and promotes a strong belief in Adapt Integrated Health Care’s philosophy, purpose, and ideals. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient referrals by obtaining all information, insurance verification and authorization required for accurate a timely coordination of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant preferred.Â
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology a bonus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receives, tracks, and obtains insurance authorization from in-network and out-of-network insurance carriers.Â
- Initiates, tracks, and updates status of all referrals for patients in a timely manner
- Communicates with all members of the team and specialist regarding the referral process to ensure proper coordination of care
- Submits prior authorizations for referrals as needed
- Obtains medical records necessary for patient appointment
- Contacts patient and referring physician office with referral insurance or benefit conflicts.
- Coordinates the referral process with outside organizations and specialist and notifies patient with referral information
- Exhibit and manage excellent turn-around time in order to ensure timely referrals.Â
- Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties whenever volume deems it necessary
- Document activities appropriately
- Comply with all HIPPA regulations
- Serves as a backup to the Prior Authorization specialist as needed.Â
- Promote a Culture of Safety, reporting hazards, errors and potential patient safety issues.
