Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Executive to serve as the senior technical and strategic lead for assigned client accounts. In this role, you will partner with Producers, Account Managers, and clients to deliver expert insurance guidance, strengthen client relationships, and support retention and growth across a complex commercial book of business.


This position is ideal for a client-focused insurance professional who can build executive-level relationships, advise on program structure and risk strategy, and help clients achieve stronger underwriting results and long-term cost control.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as senior client relationship manager for assigned accounts and maintain executive-level relationships
  • Act as primary client advisor when Producers are unavailable or focused on new business development
  • Participate in client meetings, stewardship reviews, and strategic planning discussions
  • Provide consultative guidance on insurance program design and risk management strategies
  • Evaluate client operations, exposures, and loss trends to identify opportunities for risk mitigation
  • Analyze loss runs and claims data to develop strategies to reduce claim frequency and severity
  • Lead strategic marketing and placement of complex new and renewal business
  • Engage directly with carrier underwriters to negotiate coverage structure, pricing, and terms
  • Serve as senior technical resource and mentor to Account Managers and Assistants
  • Review complex submissions, proposals, and insurance program structures
  • Identify opportunities to improve client risk profile and insurance program effectiveness
  • Support agency retention, growth, and profitability objectives

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in commercial insurance and risk management
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license required
  • CPCU, ARM, or other advanced insurance or risk management designations strongly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and risk management principles
  • Strong knowledge of underwriting practices and carrier markets
  • Exceptional client relationship management and advisory skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic thinking abilities
  • High proficiency with agency management systems; Applied EPIC preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Full-time, in-office position
  • Occasional travel to client locations may be required
  • Participation in client meetings and strategic planning discussions
  • May require availability outside normal business hours during renewal cycles or critical client needs
