Join the International Crane Foundation (ICF) and be part of a global non-profit organization dedicated to protecting cranes and the ecosystems, watersheds, and landscapes they call home. We are seeking an experienced and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to provide leadership for global financial management, planning, compliance, and stewardship across ICF's international programs and operations to support our conservation goals. The annual salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 – 150,000. The position is based at our 250-acre headquarters in Baraboo, WI, surrounded by beautiful restored native prairies and woods, with the opportunity to work in a hybrid capacity of 2-3 days at home during the week.

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors to oversee all aspects of the Foundation's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, treasury activities, audit coordination, risk management, policy development, and financial systems. You will lead and mentor a talented international finance team that supports operations in the United States, Africa, and Asia, ensuring financial practices remain effective, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you must be a collaborative and forward-thinking leader with strong expertise in nonprofit financial management, strategic planning, and organizational governance. You must also have a proven ability to strengthen financial systems, support program growth, communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, and translate complex financial information into actionable insights for leadership and board decision-making.

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, CPA designation, and at least five years of experience serving as a CFO or in an equivalent senior financial leadership role. Experience with nonprofit accounting, international accounting experience, GAAP, board reporting, budget management, and staff leadership is required.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in Business or a related field, international financial management experience, knowledge of federal grant compliance, endowment management experience, and familiarity with Sage MIP (Abila) accounting software.
