Automotive Quality Control Tech  (Entry Level)

Department: Warehouse/Inventory

Reports To: Inventory Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm (Regular Shift)

Description:  The position of Quality Control (QC) Tech requires someone who has a strong attention to detail. In this position you will be required to unload and retrieve automotive merchandise and parts from both indoors and outdoors to be prepared for delivery. You will also be required to inspect other merchandise/parts brought into shipping area by others and ensure it matches order specifications. Automotive knowledge is extremely helpful in this position.

At Wilbert’s Inc., we are focused on the customer and operating as a responsible steward of our environment. We do all this while providing low cost Premium Auto Parts to our customers. Our state of the art software, interchange information and inventory management system helps to provide the best service to the customer. We are focused on accomplishing all this, while providing our product in most instances the next day.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

-Ability to manage inventory efficiently and effectively placing merchandise in an organized and understandable manner.

-Ability to effectively and efficiently audit automotive parts/merchandise to order specifications.

-Effectively communicate and resolve any discrepancies from the customer’s order specifications.

-Ability to learn and comprehend inventory system and locate merchandise.

-Ability to move vehicles and merchandise without damaging vehicles, merchandise, people or property.

-Ability to cut or remove body and mechanical parts without damage to part, self or others.

-Knowledge of the Automotive Recycling Association's (ARA) part system.

-Ensures that all parts pulled are clean and brought to the shipping department for QC.

-Ability to read and comprehend work order or sales invoice.

Basic Requirements:

Basic computer skills

Forklift certification or ability to learn (training provided)

Comfortable working in an industrial environment

Automotive experience extremely helpful.

Driver's License

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear. While doing this job the employee will be primarily on their feet for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. For heavier merchandise lifting devices and/or assistance required.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Most of the warehouse locations are not climate controlled. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
