Summary:
As a Cam Polisher, your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain machinery used in the polishing of cams for various applications. You will work in a manufacturing setting where precision and attention to detail are paramount. Your role involves polishing camshafts to meet specific quality standards, ensuring optimal performance in engines and other mechanical systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Utilize specialized polishing equipment to polish camshafts according to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect camshafts before and after polishing to ensure they meet precise tolerances and surface finish requirements.
- Perform routing maintenance on polishing machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This may include cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs.
- Identify and address any issues or defects in the polishing process, such as uneven polishing or surface imperfections.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities being produced, inspection results, and any maintenance performed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers and quality control personnel, to ensure efficient production and quality outcomes.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety in the polishing process.
- Any other tasks/duties as assigned or deemed necessary by management.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in operating polishing machinery or similar equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of machining processes and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required.
