Job DetailsJob Location: American Fuji Seal BTN - Bardstown, KY 40004Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $47,754.70 - $56,182.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: Up to 10%Job Shift: 1st ShiftJob Category: EngineeringSummary/Objective: The Product Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Product Engineering group’s efforts in producing/mocking-up samples according to the specifications and direction from Sales Managers and Marketing Engineering.  Work focus may include HP Digital printing, sample creation utilizing various film and ink options, as well as additional duties pertaining to Product Engineering group’s focus.   Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Serve as the primary point of coordination for all incoming sample requests from the Sales organization and customers, ensuring timely execution and delivery. Evaluate template and label designs for manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and customer-specific requirements, implementing modifications as necessary. Develop and produce customer-specific sample products for market validation, testing, and evaluation. Utilize specialized software applications and digital design tools to create, modify, and implement sample templates and product configurations. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment required for the development and production of customer samples and prototype materials. Provide technical support for HP Digital Press operations related to sample creation, print quality, and process optimization. Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Production teams to communicate project status and ensure alignment on sample requirements and timelines. Analyze material characteristics, including shrink performance and substrate behavior, to determine appropriate material selection and application. Monitor inventory levels for sample-making supplies, raw materials, and consumables, ensuring adequate availability to support project needs. Maintain working knowledge of product specifications, testing protocols, and engineering documentation to provide backup support for specification development activities. Prepare and coordinate documentation required for production trials, ensuring all relevant information and materials are available prior to trial execution. Track and manage production trial schedules, sample request priorities, and customer-required completion dates to support business objectives. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance sample development processes, quality, and efficiency. Education and Experience: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Graphic Communications, Packaging Technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in manufacturing, product development, engineering support, technical services, or related environment. Experience supporting product development, prototype/sample creation, testing, or manufacturing processes preferred. Experience working with digital printing, label converting, packaging, or related production equipment is a plus. Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods Able to move and lift to 50 lbs. Able to reach and bend Travel Required: Up to 10%
