The Arc of Ocean County is seeking dependable, compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our Residential Services team and help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live fulfilling, independent lives in welcoming homes throughout Ocean County.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be part of someone’s everyday life—helping with routines, encouraging personal choice, supporting community involvement, and celebrating progress along the way. Whether you’re beginning your career in human services or looking for work with purpose, you’ll receive the training and support needed to succeed.

Position at a Glance

Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
Schedule: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Weekend Availability: Required
Pay: $20.70–$24.70 per hour
Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly

Promote Health, Safety & Well-Being
  • Remain attentive to individuals’ physical, emotional, and behavioral needs and respond appropriately to changing situations.
  • Follow individualized support plans, agency procedures, and established practices to maintain quality residential services.
  • Safely transport individuals to appointments, recreational activities, and community outings using agency vehicles when assigned.
Keep Communication & Documentation on Track
  • Complete electronic documentation, daily service notes, medication records, and required reports accurately and on time.
  • Share important updates and concerns with supervisors, coworkers, families, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Work collaboratively with the residential team to maintain consistent, high-quality services.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing with no more than five (5) motor vehicle points.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background checks, screenings, and agency onboarding requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate employment stability, including at least one (1) year of longevity with a previous employer.
