Job DetailsJob Location: CDS Offices - Barre, VT 05641Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $135,000.00 Salary/yearJob Shift: DayJob Category: ExecutiveDirector of Community Development Services WCMHS is seeking a Director of Community Development Service as part of the agency’s senior leadership team, the CDS Director leads the Community Developmental Services (CDS) Division at the agency, which consists of residences for individuals with disabilities, day and community habilitation programs, and supported employment programs. The Director is responsible for oversight, leadership, and management of the Division’s resources and program growth, and plays a key role in fulfilling WCMHS’ mission, vision, and the goals of the strategic plan to deliver high-quality services. In this managerial role, the Division Director will be under the direct supervision of the CDS Program Director and will work closely with other CDS Division Director(s), CDS and WCMHS administrators/personnel, and VT State Agencies. Summary of Duties Lead, supervise, and mentor the division's management team; foster a person-centered, inclusive culture that promotes independence and dignity for individuals with I/DD and their families Serve as a liaison and representative to community organizations, government agencies, collaborative leadership teams, steering committees, and legislative bodies; engage in public relations, advocacy, and special events to promote community awareness and inclusion Direct short- and long-term operational goal setting for the division; identify community needs and develop new resources, services, and pilot programs in response to emerging trends and gaps Manage the division's $29M operating budget, financial reporting, and grant funding; prepare grant and funding proposals to support program expansion and sustainability Oversee implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of compliance and quality assurance practices; coordinate audits, needs assessments, and performance management activities with recommendations for improvement Collaborate with division leadership to ensure performance metrics and documentation practices meet contractual obligations; support development of quality and outcomes data to drive system improvements aligned with best practices Consult on complex cases and crisis management, evaluating risk factors and ensuring client-centered outcomes; attend senior staff, clinical, peer review, and State of Vermont collaborative meetings to provide expertise May provide public education and advocacy related to I/DD services, and direct client support, as needed Compensation and Benefits WCMHS provides a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and a generous retirement contribution match. The starting salary range for this position is $130000.00 - $135000.00 QualificationsSummary of Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in a related field such as human services, psychology, special education, or social work; master’s degree is preferred in a related field such as special education, educational leadership, social work, or public administration 5 plus years of leadership experience, including team supervision experience. Practical experience with service delivery models, program development, and maintaining partnerships with community organizations (preferred) Knowledge of Vermont DAIL regulations, relevant federal laws (including IDEA), and best practices governing I/DD services The ability to deliver services and complete treatment notes in English Work Conditions Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a dynamic environment, navigate conflict with solutions-oriented, the ability to lift up to 50lbs, transportation of clients in one's own vehicle, and the ability to present complex information to varied audiences, give public testimony, and build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
