FIRST SOUTH FINANCIAL FEDERAL CREDIT UNIONÂ POSITION DESCRIPTION
OBJECTIVE:
Work in close partnership with the President/CEO and Executive Vice President/COO to oversee Consumer Lending, Indirect Lending, Credit Cards, and Digital Lending Services. Ensure operations align with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, while providing visible, consistent leadership to staff and members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute senior leadership responsibilities, including strategic planning, organization, oversight, and communication.Â
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations including: Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Safe Act and other regulations
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational effectiveness and quality initiatives.Â
- Direct all consumer lending operations, including staffing, policy development, product strategy, loan delivery, and service standards.Â
- Assess and implement technologies that enhance member experience and support loan growth. (Knowledge of MeridianLink and Symitar is preferred)
- Maintain sound lending and risk management practices, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.Â
- Serve as Executive Loan Officer as needed.Â
- Develop talent pipelines through training, coaching, and succession planning.Â
- Ensure staff maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and complete required training.Â
- Monitor performance metrics and provide ongoing leadership, coaching, and development.Â
- Provide indirect oversight of branch lending staff to support consistency and service quality.Â
- Oversee loan-related insurance products.Â
- Monitor industry trends and adjust strategies to remain competitive.Â
- Ensure loan pricing strategies appropriately balance competitiveness, cost, and risk.Â
- Prepare reports for the Board and executive leadership.Â
- Participate in hiring and staffing decisions.Â
- Demonstrate leadership aligned with organizational values, professionalism, and integrity.Â
- Lead and participate in regular meetings and organizational initiatives.Â
- Promote a culture of exceptional member service.Â
- Support continuous improvement efforts across the organization.Â
- Maintain ongoing professional development through industry engagement and education.Â
- Contribute to the development and communication of organizational strategy and vision.Â
- Partner with executive leadership to drive alignment and collaboration.Â
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives.
SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field. Extensive experience will be considered in place of formal education.
- 3+ years of loan officer experience required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of PC’s and/or computer workstations and related software, calculators and other related office equipment is required.
- Must have ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and be able to handle multi-tasks as well as exhibit solid decision-making skills.
