The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, disassembling, repairing, and maintaining equipment.  The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the safe repair and troubleshooting of malfunctioning mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems, the calibration of instruments, and performing mechanical, preventive, and predictive maintenance.  This position participates on the hazmat response team (which requires candidate to be clean-shaven for the respirator to fit properly).

  

Schedule:

  • This position is Nights 7:00 pm-7:30am./ 2-2-3 Schedule with a 3 day weekened every other week!
  • Leprino's Waverly plant is a 24/7 operating facility, and the employee must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as necessary. 

 

Pay Rate:

  • $36.86 per hour 
  • $0.75 Evening Pay Differential for every evening hour worked between 6:00pm-6:00am 
  • $1.00 Weekend Pay Differential for every hour worked Saturday & Sunday 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical duties such as maintaining/re-building pumps, valves, conveyors, sprockets, gearboxes, etc.
  • Complete preventive maintenance work orders.
  • Work with industrial electricity (motor controls) to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery including all three phase 480, 240 and other plant systems.
  • Calibrate all plant instrumentation in a wide variety of makes and types specifications (i.e., temperature, flow, pH, vacuum, pressure, Foxboro, Honeywell, Micromotion, Fischer, Anderson, etc.).
  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
  • Follow company’s good manufacturing and safety policies and procedures. Maintain housekeeping in area (i.e., toolboxes).
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old. 
  • At least two (2) years prior maintenance mechanic experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position. 

 

Preferred skills:

  • Mechanical repairs including rebuilding of gearboxes and process equipment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, installation, and repair of industrial controls (PLC 5, Control Logix, Devicenet, etc) experience.
  • Prior experience with electrical background in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with AC frequency drives and instrumentation.
  • Prior Dairy/Food Manufacturing experience.
  • Prior experience of utility systems, electrical controls, and schematic reading.

 

Physical Demands & Environment:

  • This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature. Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity. 
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods. 
  • Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders. 
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs. hourly, climb a ladder, and walk up/downstairs regularly.
