Accountant

We are seeking a Project Accountant / Staff Accountant to support core GAAP accounting and project billing functions. This role is ideal for someone with a solid accounting foundation who wants exposure to project accounting, reporting, and cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/post journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close, financial statements, and variance analysis.
• Track financial activity across projects and organizations.
• Support project setup, cost tracking, and revenue monitoring.
• Process 100+ invoices per month, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Respond to billing inquiries professionally.
• Collaborate with project managers and internal teams.
• Receive project accounting training if needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).

Preferred

• CPA or CPA-eligible.
• Experience with project accounting.
• Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or Vision.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bartow, FL.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.05/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Bartow,FL.
