Job Summary
Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking an experienced and dependable Fabrication Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to accurately bend and form sheet metal and steel components used in the fabrication of electrical enclosures and related products.
The ideal candidate will have previous press brake experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to accurately measure and inspect finished parts. This position requires someone who can work independently, maintain production standards, and consistently produce high-quality components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Details
- Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form sheet metal according to blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, bend diagrams, and production specifications.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and punches based on material and job requirements.
- Program and adjust press brake machine settings to achieve proper bend angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Accurately measure and inspect parts throughout the production process.
- Use tape measures, calipers, protractors, angle gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and quantities before beginning each job.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary machine adjustments to maintain quality.
- Operate CNC press brake equipment and make basic program or parameter adjustments as required.
- Safely load, position, and remove sheet metal and fabricated components from the machine.
- Work with various types and gauges of steel, including galvanized and other sheet metal materials.
- Identify defects, dimensional issues, tooling problems, or machine abnormalities and notify supervision when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production and quality standards while meeting established deadlines.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and required PPE guidelines.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other fabrication departments.
- Assist with other fabrication responsibilities as production demands require.
