Job DetailsJob Location: BATCHELOR, LA 70715Position reporting directly to this position: None. II. POSITION OBJECTIVE: Brief statement of why position exists. Operates extrusion equipment within acceptable standards for quality and machine performance with assistance from Shift Supervisor. III. QUALIFICATIONS: Describe education and experience needed to perform the above. A. High School diploma or equivalent experience. B. Must obtain a Forklift License (while employed with company) IV. TRAINING: Briefly state degree and depth of job training required for this position. None. V. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Tasks and Duties 1. Move completed product units from unitizing area to QC inspection area. 2. Keep area supplied with materials to package product on each line. 3. Move scrap product to grinding area and grinds. 4. Assist in moving equipment as requested. 5. Check dunnage operation on units or loose material being transported as required for safe storage and check to see that unit is safe, sound and properly built. 6. Maintain proper identification and placement of materials transported. 7. Use safe working practices and report hazardous conditions at all times. 8. Keep equipment and working area clean and orderly. 9. Inform supervisor of flaws in product. 10. Operate forklift when needed. 11. Perform other job-related duties as directed. Have adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate all powered vehicles. (i.e., forklifts, sweepers, car and pickups). 2. Sight capabilities to distinguish proper product identification as well as warning and operational indicators. 3. Hearing capabilities to distinguish differences in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators. 4. Sight capabilities to identifying accuracy and neatness of required job assignments. 5. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling capabilities to handle job requirements such as operating, cleaning, or mixing equipment. 6. Balancing to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching in all areas due to limited direct supervision and/or observation. 7. Ability to verbally communicate either face to face or via telephone with other employees to accomplish all assigned job requirements. 8. Hear clearly and understand verbal communication whether it is face to face or via telephone. 9. Climb and descend all ladders or steps (whether fixed or portable) on company facilities in order to access all areas if needed. 10. See and understand written communication. 11. Ability to confirm by sight quality level of raw materials and products produced to determine acceptance and/or denial of each. 12. Ability to use caution when lifting or handling objects or equipment to remain within the recommended weight limit of fifty (50) pounds, and get assistance if material is over fifty (50) pounds. 13. Walking through, under and around equipment with a clearance of thirty (30) inches. 14. Ability to activate and use telephones, calculators and personal computers as required in assigned job duties. 15. Ability to feel objects, textures, size, and shapes and determine temperature by touching of skin, primarily that of finger tips. 16. Ability to grasp tools and use them in a safe manner working manner to avoid injury to self or fellow employees. VI. AUTHORITY / DECISION MAKING. STATE CLOSENESS OF SUPERVISION, CONTROL BY POLICY OR PROCEDURE, DIRECTION OF OTHERS. Works under J-M policy and procedures on a day-to-day basis.
