Job DetailsJob Location: BATCHELOR, LA 70715SUMMARY: This position calls for a person who is self-motivated and does not need constant supervision. This person should be able to work alone as well as being able to work with a group. Imagination and inventiveness are also needed to cope with constantly changing situations and people. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Operators forklift in loading plastic pipe and fittings in accordance with prescribed loading methods. 2. Replunishes fuel, oil and water in trucks, as required, completes "Daily Forklift Checklist" 3. Watches for damaged pipe. 4. Breaks standard units to make mixed or partial units. 5. Be responsible for cleanup of the yard and warehouse. 6. Perform quality checks while moving pipe. 7. Plans loads and weight distribution: checks numbers of pipe against loaders ticket. 8. Watches for damaged pipe. 9. Be able to clear the pad and correctly stack the crates. 10. Ability to grash tools and use them in a safe working manner. 11. Know the organization of the stock racks. 12. Attends required training sessions and wears the required safety equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and other safety equipment that might be required for certain jobs or tasks. 13. Is willing to learn new tasks and take on individual responsibilities QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. One year shipping experience. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1 year experience in forklift driving. COMPUTER SKILLS: Experience with computers and basic keyboarding skills. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical, and hydraulic equipment. The employee normally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibrations.
