POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking Apprentice Electricians for contract positions on commercial and residential construction projects in Batesville, AR. Initial engagements are project-based, running 4 weeks or longer, with top performers eligible for conversion to direct hire. Candidates must be enrolled in or eligible for a registered apprenticeship program recognized by the Arkansas Department of Labor and Licensing (ADLL) or a DOL-approved apprenticeship sponsor. Apprentices will perform electrical installation tasks under the direct supervision of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician, supporting all phases of commercial and residential construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Journeyman and Master Electricians with all phases of electrical rough-in and trim on commercial and residential projects
  • Support installation, bending, and support of EMT, rigid (GRC), IMC, and PVC conduit systems under journeyman direction; develop proficiency with hand and hydraulic benders
  • Pull and route wire and cable through conduit systems; maintain proper fill ratios and NEC-compliant practices under supervision
  • Assist with installation and termination of panels, subpanels, breakers, and service equipment per one-line diagrams and panel schedules
  • Install lighting fixtures, switches, receptacles, GFCI/AFCI devices, and specialty equipment under direction
  • Develop ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings including one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and detail sheets
  • Assist with layout and conduit runs, device locations, and panel placement from electrical drawings under journeyman guidance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant work area; follow all site safety and housekeeping standards
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks and site safety meetings; adhere to OSHA 29 CFR 1926 electrical standards and site-specific safety plans
  • Support material staging, takeoffs, and waste reduction as directed by foreman or superintendent
  • Actively pursue apprenticeship program hours, coursework, and on-the-job learning milestones

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Enrolled in or eligible to enroll in a DOL-registered or ADLL-recognized electrical apprenticeship program
  • Basic understanding of electrical concepts, tools, and safe work practices
  • Willingness to learn conduit systems — EMT, rigid, IMC, PVC — including layout, bending, and support installation
  • Ability to follow direction from licensed Journeymen and Foremen and apply feedback on the job
  • Valid driver's license; reliable transportation to job site
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and sustain physical demands across full shifts in varying conditions
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred:

  • 1–2 years of electrical field experience or vocational/trade school coursework in electrical
  • OSHA 10 – Construction certification
  • Prior exposure to commercial project types: multifamily, retail, or light industrial
  • Familiarity with reading basic electrical drawings or plans
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand and power tools
