Job Title: Material Planner

Position Summary

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role coordinates with suppliers, production, and internal departments to balance supply and demand, minimize shortages, and control costs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor material requirements based on production forecasts and customer demand 
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of raw materials and components 
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support operations while minimizing excess stock 
  • Analyze inventory trends and adjust planning strategies accordingly 
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, and logistics teams to align material flow 
  • Track and resolve material shortages, delays, or quality issues 
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, material usage, and supplier performance 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste 


Qualifications

  • Experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles 


Work Environment
