Buyer(Retail/Foodservice)

Capitol City Produce is looking for a high-energy Buyer, Retail/Foodservice to join our Procurement team!
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a perishable, ever-changing market and loves building strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and customers.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As our Buyer, you’ll help keep our retail grocery and foodservice customers stocked and satisfied by:
- Purchasing and replenishing fresh produce items while keeping high fill rates and minimizing waste
- Building strong relationships with customers for promotions and product planning
- Partnering with growers and suppliers to negotiate pricing, programs, and terms
- Monitoring seasonality, quality conditions, and market trends
- Creating and managing accurate purchase orders (POs) and resolving discrepancies
- Collaborating across Sales, Marketing, and Operations to keep everything running smoothly
What We’re Looking For:
- 1–3 years of purchasing/procurement experience (preferred) in food/produce, retail, or foodservice
- Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with quick deadlines
- Organized, motivated, and ready to take ownership
- Experience with business software (Google Suite preferred)
