Job DetailsJob Location: Coburn's of Baton Rouge "North" (21) - Baton Rouge, LA 70802 Summary The Counter Sales position is responsible for increasing sales and profit by efficiently and courteously assisting walk-in, will call and telephone customers with selecting and purchasing products, while assisting the outside sales team with meeting their customer’s expectations.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Focus Area: Performance Measure: Customer Service Customer loyalty is maintained by providing Coburn’s exceptional level of customer service as measured by increased sales and profits, number of transactions, customer feedback and/or satisfaction ratings. Focus Area: Performance Measure: Inventory Control Customer is properly and efficiently assisted in the order process and profit is increased as a result of properly maintained inventory and proactively communicated inventory needs. Focus Area: Performance Measure: Knowledge Development Knowledge is developed and maintained in order to increase credibility with customers as measured by increased customer loyalty and sales.   Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 1 year of the following experience is preferred: Customer Service Experience Sales Experience Applicable Relative Industry Experience Progressive Industry Experience Must possess basic computer and math skills. Must pass company required drug screen and physical. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs.; must have physical mobility and dexterity to frequently stand, bend, push, twist, kneel, climb, squat, stoop, and reach overhead. Routinely drives/operates forklifts; works with tools, and equipment. Considerable mental/visual concentration, coordinating manual dexterity with mental/visual attention. Construction and Warehouse environment with variable but moderately high noise levels. Must wear closed-toe shoes, gloves, and other protective items as required. A consistent presence at work is required. In order to operate a forklift, the operator must be a minimum age of 18 years old and successfully complete Coburn’s Forklift Operator Certification.
