Position Summary
The Beneļ¬ts Specialist is an integral member of the Human Resources team and is responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the organizationās employee beneļ¬ts programs. This position serves as a primary resource for employees regarding beneļ¬ts questions, assists with enrollment and eligibility, manages beneļ¬ts-related invoices and records, and works closely with insurance carriers, brokers, and other beneļ¬t providers to ensure accurate and timely administration of employee beneļ¬ts.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable handling conļ¬dential employee information while providing excellent customer service to employees and internal stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer the organizationās employee beneļ¬ts programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, supplemental beneļ¬ts, and other offerings.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees with questions regarding beneļ¬ts, eligibility, enrollment, coverage, claims, and changes in beneļ¬ts.
- Coordinate new-hire beneļ¬ts enrollment, qualifying life event changes, annual open enrollment, and termination of beneļ¬ts.
- Maintain accurate employee beneļ¬ts records and ensure employee eligibility information is current.
- Review and reconcile monthly beneļ¬ts invoices for accuracy, including employee elections, additions, terminations, and changes.
- Coordinate with Finance/Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of beneļ¬t deductions and payments.
- Communicate regularly with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, beneļ¬ts brokers, and other vendors to resolve enrollment, billing, eligibility, and coverage issues.
- Investigate and resolve employee and carrier issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with beneļ¬ts audits and reconciliation processes to identify and correct discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain beneļ¬ts-related reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and documentation.
- Assist with the annual open enrollment process, including employee communications, informational materials, enrollment support, and coordination with beneļ¬t vendors.
- Monitor employee eligibility and ensure beneļ¬ts are administered in accordance with plan documents and applicable policies.
- Assist with required beneļ¬ts notices, compliance activities, and documentation.
- Maintain conļ¬dentiality and security of employee beneļ¬ts and personal information.
- Stay informed regarding changes to beneļ¬ts plans, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Assist the Human Resources team with special projects and other HR-related responsibilities as needed.
Qualiļ¬cations
- Bachelorās degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related ļ¬eld preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of experience in employee beneļ¬ts, Human Resources, payroll, or a related administrative role preferred.
- Strong understanding of employee beneļ¬ts administration and enrollment processes.
- Experience working with insurance carriers, beneļ¬ts brokers, and/or third-party beneļ¬t administrators preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to review and reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle sensitive and conļ¬dential information with discretion.
- Proļ¬ciency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with HRIS, beneļ¬ts administration, or payroll systems preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
