Duties include assisting in the practice of all pharmacy duties under the direct and immediate supervision of a licensed pharmacist with heavy emphasis on processing and filling prescriptions for surgical and clinic patients at SSCBR and from the community.  Technician must be knowledgeable of prescription insurances and how to submit prescriptions to the insurance companies with all the necessary documentation as required for approval.  Technician must also be able to effectively communicate with insurance companies as well as patients regarding any issues that may arise with filling prescriptions.   Technician is also responsible for checking out patients at register when necessary as well as performing other general duties necessary for daily operations.  Technician must be highly organized, have excellent communication and customer service skills, and must be able to perform many simultaneous duties while also serving customers. QualificationsEducation:  High school diploma or GED preferred Experience:  At least 2 years retail pharmacy experience highly preferred License/Certification Required:  Louisiana State  Pharmacy Technician Certification in good standing
