Job Summary**
The Project Engineer at Primoris Heavy Civil in Baton Rouge, LA, will support project management and construction teams in the successful execution of heavy civil projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, budget, and schedule. This role involves a blend of technical support, field coordination, and administrative duties.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in planning, organizing, and directing project activities.
* Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance during construction.
* Prepare and manage project documentation, including submittals, RFI's (Requests for Information), change orders, and daily reports.
* Track project progress, identify potential issues, and assist in developing solutions to maintain project schedule and budget.
* Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor work quality, safety, and adherence to project plans.
* Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
* Assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and budget analysis for assigned projects.
* Support the implementation and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures on job sites.
* Participate in project meetings, take meeting minutes, and distribute information to relevant stakeholders.
* Perform quantity take-offs and assist with estimating activities as needed.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* 0-3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, internships included.
* Strong understanding of construction principles, practices, and project management methodologies.
* Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Primavera P6, HCSS HeavyJob, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) is a plus.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
