Job DetailsJob Location: Surgical Specialty Center of Baton Rouge - Baton Rouge, LA 70810Education Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: Clinical SupportMonday - Friday 10:30am to 7pm Purpose The Instrument Tech provides supportive assistance to staff in the operating room by ensuring the cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment.   General Job Functions Counts/inventories instrument sets as delivered to dirty work room. Communicates to the scrub when an instrument is missing. Cleans surgical instruments according to manufacturers’ guidelines. Perform sterilization for implants using AORN/AAMI guidelines. Knowledge of what instruments belong in sets. Properly packages decontaminated surgical instruments (sets) for sterilization. Reports and delivers broken equipment to OR Manager/Director. QualificationsEducation High school diploma or equivalent preferred   Experience Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or medical environment as an instrument technician preferred. Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department policy and procedures and standards independently. Licenses and Certificates ANSI or AAMI certificate preferred.
