Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC, (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.


Position Summary

Electrical (Power Distribution – Senior Engineer) will be based at the project site and will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of power distribution system and process electrics. The role involves supervision of cable laying & terminations, HT/LT switchgear installation & testing, transformer erection & testing, earthing & lightning protection system and installation of lighting & small power distribution system.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include monitoring daily work execution, ensuring execution of work in compliance with approved drawings & electrical standards/specification, resolving site issues, coordinating with civil & mechanical teams for interface works, supporting functional testing of electrical equipment/system, and ensuring completion of handover of all documentation as required for a system accurately.

Additionally, the position requires tracking of materials requisitions, monitoring day‑to‑day activities & progress/performance of contractor & ensuring timely completion of tasks, assuring execution as per quality standards & HSE guidelines/safety requirements. and enforcing safe work practices during energization, shutdowns, and high‑risk activities.


Qualifications

Candidate should have strong site experience in electrical installation, testing and commissioning with solid knowledge of power distribution system and electrical equipment. Proficiency in interpreting single‑line diagrams, schematics, cable schedules/terminations and electrical layouts plans is essential. Strong leadership & coordination skills for interacting with Clients/Contractors/civil & mechanical teams for interface work and decision-making abilities for resolving site issues is important. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Navisworks is preferred for reviewing installation details and resolving coordination issues.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, sound technical communication, and confidence in making on‑site decisions while ensuring compliance with U.S. electrical codes, NEC/NFPA requirements, and project‑specific engineering standards. Background in the Iron & Steel sector, with involvement in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant construction activities will be an added preference.


Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E. or B.Tech).
