JOB SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, provides inventory accounting services to various DENSO locations across North America. Acts as a liaison to resolve outstanding issues. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Computes cost value of raw materials work in process and finished goods for inventory purposes.Â
- Analyzes actual costs versus standard costs and prepares reports of variances.Â
- Compiles cost data for preparation of operating budgets.Â
- Prepares estimates of new or proposed product costs.Â
- Prepared lower of cost or market calculation, landed cost calculation, margin analysis and other requested calculations.Â
- Maintains ledgers and financial statements.Â
- Prepares financial reporting for inventory area, as needed.Â
- Monitors inventory adjustments.Â
- Responsible for all inventory/cost related journal entries for month end close.Â
- Responsible for reconciling all inventory/cost related GL accounts in a timely manner.Â
- Analyzes PPV (purchase price variance) and IPV (invoice price variance) each month to ensure accuracy of standard costs and PO pricing.Â
- Works with other departments to improve physical inventory taking, with support from higher level.Â
- May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.Â
- Performs other duties as assigned.Â
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldÂ
- 5-8 years of relevant experience with At least 2-5 years of that experience must be in inventory/cost accountingÂ
- Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS is required, along with an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, gross profit, J SOX, etc.)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing dutiesÂ
- Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernibleÂ

Annual Salary: $93,000 – $116,000
