Job Summary
Freedom Motors USA is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Labor / Ramp Building team member to join our production team in Battle Creek, MI. This position will primarily focus on the assembly, installation, and finishing of wheelchair-accessible vehicle ramps. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and takes pride in producing safe, high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and install wheelchair-accessible vehicle ramps according to specifications and work instructions.
  • Measure, cut, drill, fasten, and assemble ramp components as required.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively.
  • Install and adjust ramp components to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment.
  • Inspect completed ramps for quality, functionality, and proper installation.
  • Identify and correct assembly or installation issues.
  • Follow established production procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Move materials, parts, and equipment throughout the production area as needed.
  • Assist with other vehicle assembly, production, and general labor duties as assigned.
  • Work as part of a team to meet production schedules and quality expectations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, automotive, assembly, carpentry, or general labor is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow measurements, instructions, and basic diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Previous ramp-building, fabrication, or automotive experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials, tools, and ramp components.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hands-on tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
