Janitor

We are seeking a Janitor to join our team! Under limited supervision sweeps and/or washes floors of plant as required, empties trash containers at appropriate locations, cleans and sanitizes locker rooms, shower rooms and toilet areas keeping paper towels and soap containers full.

This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6 AM – 2:30 PM; two Saturdays per month, 6 AM – 12 AM, overtime as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans and maintains toilets and locker room facilities in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Sweeps floors and gathers all sweepings into a pile which can be picked up and deposited in waste cans.
• Transports waste cans into predetermined location for burning or picking up.
• Empties waste baskets and garbage cans from all areas, including locker room, Production Department offices
• Performs related work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rates labor grade.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 year of related experience
• Experience with hand and power tools
