Position Summary:
Facilitates Evidence Based Curriculum within the community; develops and maintains the coordinated delivery of county-wide substance abuse prevention promotion and education services; coordinates services with other county organizations and State and National programs; assesses and identifies community needs for drug and alcohol prevention programs; provides assistance to schools, organizations and business groups to plan, organize, design, implement and evaluate programs; provides community leadership through committees, networks and coalitions to develop and foster cooperative relationships between diverse groups concerned with responsive prevention service and public policy to provide technical assistance/consultation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned: 聽
1.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with schools, parent-teacher groups, civic organizations, church groups, and other youth and community organizations to provide information and awareness on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
2.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Network with other prevention and social service agencies within the region to include prevention, intervention, treatment, mental health, etc. in order to provide comprehensive services, identify needs, and make referrals as necessary.
3.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in alcohol, tobacco or other drug awareness campaigns
4.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in health fairs, business expos, parades and other community events for the purpose of providing anti-substance use messages.
5.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in providing orientation or information sessions for parents, teachers, staff or administrators in target area school and community sites when requested.
6.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Document all program actives as required and submit program reports and records according to the agency鈥檚 established deadlines.
7.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in maintaining and updating the agency鈥檚 community resource list, video reference list, curriculum inventory, program materials inventory, and physical inventory.
8.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Attend training, seminars, workshops, and classes to achieve required credentials and continuing education as required.
9.聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform other duties as assigned by the Prevention Lead

Lead Duties and Responsibilities (If classified in a Lead Role):
1.聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in quality control and performance improvement activities.
2.聽聽聽聽聽 Contribute to performance feedback, hiring decisions.
3.聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure standards are met (quality, timeliness, customer service, etc.).
4.聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluate and test new procedures/processes.
5.聽聽聽聽聽 Orient and/or train new staff.
6.聽聽聽聽聽 Problem solving capabilities.
7.聽聽聽聽聽 Subject matter expert/technical leadership.
8.聽聽聽聽聽 Work flow/distribution of work.
9.聽聽聽聽聽 Assist in assuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws, and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Associates Degree in Health and Human Services or health-related field OR equivalent course hours toward a bachelor鈥檚 degree OR equivalent work experience.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Two (2) year substance abuse prevention experience or related experience
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Must start a Development Plan toward their MCBAP Prevention Specialist Certification upon (3) months of hire, if not already certified.
