Electrical Controls Engineer Â

PURPOSE: 
This position will be responsible for the Electrical Engineering requirements on some of the highest profile, most strategic projects across the entire Andersen Enterprise. Â

Primary Role & ResponsibilitiesÂ
Controls Engineering Design Resource;Â
Perform Electrical / Controls / PLC Engineering design workÂ
Hardware controls design focusÂ
Evaluate Controls / Electrical / PLC Engineering solutions to problemsÂ
Write Machinery Control functional specificationsÂ
Documentation of Electrical Design changesÂ
Capital Equipment / Equipment Project Support;Â
Assist in the development and writing of electrical/controls functional specificationsÂ
Communicate Electrical Specs/Standards to prospective suppliersÂ
Communicate and verify documentation requirements are metÂ
Evaluate technology sufficient to meet specificationsÂ
Complete Electrical Portion of Safety AssessmentsÂ
Create electrical/controls support plans for new equipmentÂ
Create modifications to and maintain electrical standards and specifications (Safety, documentation, wiring practices)Â
Ability to Evaluate Controls / PLC Technology for applications within our plant(s)   Â
Provide and/or coordinate detailed quotes/estimates for Controls /PLC Engineering workÂ
Provide and/or coordinate Budgetary Quotes/Estimates for Electrician workÂ
Able to Design /Modify/Debug Control PLC Systems that use the plant standardÂ
Technology/Software Packages (*See list)Â
Cross functional work within a project team and across various enterprise locationsÂ

Minimum Qualifications:Â
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field. Â
Preference of 5+ years’ experience Â
Experience with NEC, NFPA79, NFPA70E and other local and national codes that need to be met for electrical equipment. Â
Demonstrated experience collecting data, performing statistical analyses, and making sound, data-driven decisions. Â
Demonstrated experience establishing and implementing performance measures. Â
Familiarity with and prior application of formal problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventative measures. Â
Embraces and drives change to improve. Â

PAY RANGE:

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
