Job Description:

Andersen Corporation is seeking a self-motivated Test Engineer to join our energetic Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) Materials Testing and Fabrication Team. This role provides critical support in developing and standardizing test methods, ensuring robust documentation, and leading a team focused on material and product testing in areas such as:
Material development across thermoplastics, thermosets, sealants, glass, coatings, and adhesives

Corner welding and joining technologies

Packaging materials and construction

Fenestration product life prediction testing

Product development and design

Key Responsibilities
Develop, write, and maintain clear, comprehensive work instructions and test standards for material and product testing; transition documentation into ARAS

Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and technicians to validate test methods and ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards

Run test equipment and analyze test data to recommend improvements for method efficiency and standardization

Ensure test documentation complies with internal quality systems and regulatory requirements

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing accuracy and throughput

Train team members on newly developed test methods and best practices

Integrate unique test software into ARC

Work independently to complete assigned tasks and manage priorities

Lead a group of Technologists and Technicians within Material Testing

Present technical information and proposals to RDI team members

Occasional travel required (approximately 5%); primary work location is Bayport, MN

Minimum Qualifications
BS in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Strong technical writing skills with the ability to create clear, detailed documentation

Familiarity with material and product testing principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and statistical software (Minitab, JMP, etc.)

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Project management experience and ability to work collaboratively across functions

Strong working knowledge of product development principles

Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing test methods in a manufacturing or R&D environment

Knowledge of ASTM, ISO, or other relevant testing standards

Hands-on experience with material characterization and mechanical testing equipment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and make presentations to all levels of an organization

Pay Range:

$88,235.00 - $136,765.00

**PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
