Job Description
Turner & Townsend seeks a Project Coordinator to support large-scale construction projects and will report directly to the Site Lead / Senior Project Manager. The ideal candidate will be driven to provide our clients with excellent service.
*5 days a week onsite in Baytown, TX required*Â
Responsibilities:Â Â
- Support planning, coordination, and execution of projects from initiation through completion
- Assist the Site Lead in delivering project scope, schedule, and objectives
- Develop, maintain, and track project schedules, including key milestones and short-term lookaheads
- Monitor progress against plan, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues with mitigation actions
- Prepare and deliver regular project status reports (progress, risks, upcoming activities)
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on project activities
- Facilitate project meetings (daily coordination, weekly reviews) and track action items to closure
- Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and communication records
- Maintain a consistent on-site presence to monitor field progress, sequencing, and execution of work.
- Manage stakeholders including architects, engineers, and supply chain to deliver compliant projects.Â
- Can analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.Â
- Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilizedÂ
- Ensure application of best practice on all projectsÂ
- Production of formal project status reports and other reports as requiredÂ
- Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctlyÂ
- Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviewsÂ
- Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communicationsÂ
- Forecast and update key project milestonesÂ
- Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteriaÂ
- Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholdersÂ
- Rapid response to RFIs from the fieldÂ
- Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where requiredÂ
- Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliersÂ
- Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunitiesÂ
- Strategic Thinking - provide advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectivesÂ
- Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is capturedÂ
- Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processesÂ
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.Â
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or field related to construction.Â
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience Â
- Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the broader teamÂ
- Effective presentation skillsÂ
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management toolsÂ
- Strong communication skills.Â
- Industrial background preferred.
- Safety oriented.
