Position Summary

The Operations Support Shipping Technician is responsible for inspecting, preparing, handling, and loading product for shipment while supporting daily operations and maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. This role requires the ability to support shipping activities, and maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect and seal barrels to ensure product quality and shipment readiness
  • Inspect equipment using established checklists and report deficiencies
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move product safely
  • Prepare barrels for shipment, including conveyor operations and product sampling
  • Load, unload, and move materials as required
  • Participate in daily safety and quality meetings
  • Report all incidents, hazards, near misses, and safety concerns immediately
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including removing debris, cleaning spills, drains, and break areas
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Support cross-training initiatives and perform assigned duties in multiple operational areas
  • Verify product integrity and communicate concerns regarding product quality, shortages, or equipment issues
  • Work effectively with supervisors and team members to achieve production goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and trained

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to understand and respond appropriately to emergency procedures
  • Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively within a team environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and attendance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating a forklift
  • Experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial operations
  • Previous experience working in a safety-sensitive industrial environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to work on uneven or moving surfaces
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for respiratory protective equipment use
  • Ability to maintain close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception as required for safe job performance

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions throughout the year
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as business needs dictate
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines
  • Position is subject to pre-employment background screening and drug testing
