East Houston Medical Center’s Baytown facility is seeking Supply Chain Managers to lead materials management, purchasing coordination, inventory readiness, and vendor support. This role directly supports patient care by ensuring the right supplies and equipment are available when clinical teams need them.
About the Role
The Supply Chain Manager oversees ordering, receiving, distribution, inventory control, par levels, backorder management, and supply cost awareness across clinical and operational departments. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, service-minded, and comfortable coordinating with department leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing, receiving, inventory control, supply distribution, and materials management workflows.
- Maintain appropriate par levels for emergency, inpatient, surgical, laboratory, pharmacy, facilities, and administrative areas.
- Monitor supply usage, stockouts, backorders, substitutions, expiration dates, and critical supply availability.
- Coordinate vendor communication, contract awareness, pricing support, order follow-up, and delivery issue resolution.
- Work with department leaders to identify supply needs, cost-saving opportunities, and process improvements.
- Support surgical case readiness, emergency preparedness, new department setup, and facility growth needs.
- Maintain accurate records for purchase orders, receiving, invoices, asset tracking, and inventory adjustments.
- Promote responsible supply use while protecting clinical readiness and patient safety.
Scheduling and Availability
Full-time management role with schedule based on facility operations. Availability may be required for urgent supply disruptions or emergency preparedness needs.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
- Healthcare supply chain, materials management, purchasing, or inventory leadership experience preferred.
- Strong vendor management, cost control, organization, and communication skills.
- Experience with purchasing systems, inventory software, ERP platforms, or healthcare materials systems preferred.
- Ability to coordinate across clinical and non-clinical departments with urgency and professionalism.
