Job DetailsJob Location: Beachwood, OH 44122Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeTravel Percentage: NegligibleJob Shift: DayJob Category: EngineeringPower Systems Medium Voltage Switchgear Engineer  Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Medium Voltage Switchgear Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in the design, testing, and support of medium voltage (MV) switchgear systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, sales and project teams to deliver reliable design solutions.  Key Responsibilities including but not limited to: Design and develop medium voltage switchgear systems (typically 1kV–38kV) in compliance with applicable standards (ANSI, IEEE, IEC). Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Perform equipment sizing, protection coordination, and short-circuit/arc flash analysis. Review customer specifications and project requirements to ensure technical compliance. Support manufacturing, assembly, and factory acceptance testing (FAT) of switchgear panels. Troubleshoot design or field issues and provide technical support to internal teams and clients. Coordinate with cross-functional teams including project management, procurement, and quality. Assist in commissioning activities and provide on-site or remote technical support as needed. Maintain proper documentation and engineering records. Interface with sales team and customers on new opportunities and technical reviews of applications QualificationsWhat we need you to have: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 2–3 years of experience working with Schneider, Siemens, Eaton or ABB medium voltage switchgear. Knowledge of electrical standards such as UL, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, and NEC. Experience with protection relays and control systems. Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPlan, or similar). Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, including power systems and protection schemes. Familiarity with relay programming (e.g., SEL, ABB, Siemens). Exposure to arc flash studies and power system modeling. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
