Job Description:
In this role, you will help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build life skills, increase independence, and participate in meaningful community activities through active treatment programming. You’ll work closely with interdisciplinary teams to create engaging learning opportunities, support personal growth, and provide individualized care in a safe and supportive environment.

Wage: $22.401 + An additional $3/every hour worked

Job Duties are as follows (but not limited to):
Plan, organize, and lead active treatment activities that promote independence, job readiness, and community participation.
Develop and follow individualized activity plans and schedules based on each person’s IPP and goals.
Provide personal care assistance, including feeding, dressing, repositioning, and toileting.
Observe, assess, and document individual progress, behaviors, and participation in activities and programs.
Collect, analyze, and present data and progress reports to support treatment planning and program adjustments.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support habilitation goals and individual growth.
Conduct individual and situational assessments to evaluate strengths, interests, and functional abilities.
Train and guide staff and individuals served in carrying out active treatment activities and best practices.
Transport individuals to and from activities and community-based learning opportunities.
Maintain and oversee activity areas, equipment, supplies, and required materials for programming.

​ Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field AND experience working with individuals who have a developmental or intellectual disability. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Other:
Incumbents are expected to successfully complete Basic Support class within 120 days and facility training requirements within 6 months of employment
Specific positions in this class are required to obtain Mandt, CPR, and First Aid certification and successfully complete the training necessary to independently support residents in active treatment services.
Specific positions in this class may require the incumbents to possess a valid driver's license and provide a passenger vehicle with adequate liability insurance, or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation, in order to perform work-related travel, such as transportation for clients.

Knowledge of:
Active treatment methods, behavioral supports, and documentation standards
Intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental illness, gerontology, and related behaviors
State, federal, Medicaid, and Title XIX regulations
Behavior modification, intervention, assessment, and crisis management practices
Training design, quality improvement, research, and problem-solving principles
Developmental disability and mental health service delivery systems
Skill in:
Interpreting program plans and treatment goals
Communication, active listening, and crisis intervention
Time management, organization, and problem-solving
Coaching, training, and maintaining professional relationships
Observing, documenting, and evaluating services provided
Ability to:
Adapt programs to meet changing client and community needs
Encourage participation and engagement in activities
Maintain records, compile reports, and analyze information
Build effective relationships with families, guardians, and community partners
Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and individual progress
Use computers and standard office software applications
