Requires standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting. Clear speech to communicate effectively with customers (e.g. patients, families, and other team members). Fine and gross motor skills. Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary. Also subject to bloodborne pathogens at all times in patient care. May have occasional exposure to radiation during radiology procedures and to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents). As a condition of employment, employees must adhere to: · OCH Code of Conduct · OCH Policies and Procedures · Scope of Practice within License/Certification. · HIPAA and HIPAA Security Confidentiality Standards · Workplace Safety · Mandatory Training · Annual Compliance Education ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Performs designated tasks for patients in all age groups in clinic setting.  May perform basic monitoring to include temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P Must have good communication skills and support team work in the delivery of patient care as well as demonstrate customer relations consistent with the hospital’s purpose, vision, and values. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions effectively. OCH prefers that Non-Certified Clinical Assistants (those holding a SRNA certification or nothing) obtain a CCMA certification within 6 months of hire if they hold 1 year of clinical experience or within 1 year of employment with no clinical experience. Collects specimens as assigned using correct policy and procedure for collection, labeling, and transporting specimens to the lab. Observed and record vital signs accurately and in a timely manner as assigned. Obtains weight and height on patients as assigned and/or according to policy. Cleans and prepares exam rooms following each patient and all medical histories. Accurately and promptly reports changes in patients’ condition to the provider. Understands and utilizes EMR. Accurately obtains patient history/information. May perform simple lab and screening tests with competency. Properly disinfects equipment as per policy. Completes medication reconciliations. May be responsible for scheduling of tests or referrals and communicating to patient. Reports any faulty equipment, infection or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
