Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care that supports residents' health, comfort, dignity, and independence. Working under the direction of the licensed nursing team, the CNA assists with activities of daily living, monitors resident well-being, and helps create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while delivering exceptional resident-centered care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. 
  • Help residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation while promoting safety and independence. 
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition, including vital signs and other observations, to the nursing team. 
  • Assist residents with meals, hydration, and nutritional support as needed. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents. 
  • Accurately document resident care and communicate concerns promptly to licensed nursing staff. 
  • Provide compassionate emotional support while building positive relationships with residents and their families. 
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and resident rights policies at all times. 
  • Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team to provide exceptional resident care. 
  • Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

 

Required Qualifications

  • Current Kentucky State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or currently enrolled in a state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program (must obtain certification within four months in accordance with state requirements). 
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe). 
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. 
  • Basic computer skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the nursing team. 
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing and walking, bending, pushing, pulling, transferring residents, and assisting with activities of daily living. 

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, hospital, or assisted living settings. 
  • Experience caring for older adults or individuals with complex medical needs. 
  • Knowledge of infection prevention, resident rights, and person-centered care practices. 
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) or point-of-care documentation systems. 
  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for improving the lives of others.
