Job Summary

The Major Projects Operations Manager is responsible for managing and completing the operations scope of a major project at Beaver Valley and fleet project support. This role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and successful integration of all systems into existing plant infrastructure.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide Operations oversight and technical direction for all design, modification, and testing activities.
  • Coordinate all interconnecting modifications to ensure system compatibility and operational readiness between Vistra and the Contractors.
  • Direct and approve Operations reviews, ensuring alignment with nuclear safety and licensing requirements.
  • Manage and guide support contract organization to maintain quality, scope, and schedule compliance.
  • Manage and Lead Independent Operational Reviews to validate design integrity, constructability, and compliance with nuclear standards.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies, internal stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure all engineering deliverables meet NRC and INPO requirements.
  • Drive resolution of technical issues, ensuring timely decision-making to support project milestones.
  • Ensure system designs consider long-term operability, maintainability, and integration with plant operations to include online and offline impacts, procedures, training, turnover and commissioning.  

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 15 years of engineering experience in nuclear power, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Shift Technical Advisor (STA) qualified
  • Required experience with Ops Impacts, evaluations, training, procedures, site coordination, and Beaver Valley site processes
  • Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, INPO guidelines, and industry standards
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams on high-complexity projects
  • Available for travel for project support 

Key Metrics

  • On-time delivery of milestones.
  • Compliance with all nuclear safety, licensing, and quality requirements.
  • Successful completion of independent reviews with minimal corrective actions.
  • Effective coordination between project site leadership, 0perations,contractors, and third parties.
