The Opportunity
Recovery Works Healing Center is seeking a reliable and personable Driver to join their team in Dayton, OH. This is a part-time, non-exempt, onsite role reporting to the Director of Operations, well-suited for someone who is patient, safety-conscious, and comfortable supporting residents in a recovery environment. The Driver plays an important role in maintaining the structure of the recovery program by providing safe, timely, and professional transportation for residents to clinical services, employment, appointments, and approved activities.


What You'll Do

  • Provide safe, timely, and professional transportation for residents to clinical services, employment, appointments, and approved activities
  • Conduct routine vehicle safety checks and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to management
  • Follow all traffic laws, agency transportation policies, and safety protocols
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness to support resident transport
  • Interact with residents in a respectful, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented manner
  • Uphold professional boundaries and housing and program policies during all transportation activities
  • Monitor for safety concerns or behavioral issues during transport and report concerns to supervisors
  • Support positive community relations when transporting residents in the community
  • Accurately track mileage, trip logs, and required transportation documentation
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Communicate scheduling needs, delays, or incidents promptly to appropriate staff
  • Other duties as assigned by management, consistent with the scope of the driver role


Requirements

Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one year of professional or program-related driving experience preferred
  • Valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Basic understanding of substance use and mental health treatment environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements
  • CPR and First Aid certification required, or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe
  • Ability to operate a mobile phone and vehicle communication systems
  • Basic documentation and recordkeeping skills related to transportation logs
  • Professional communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and capacity to maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Comfortable working with both adult and youth residents
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

Schedule and Compensation

  • Schedule: Part-time, onsite, days
  • Compensation: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour
