Process Sustaining Engineering Technician 4 (EPI / Implant)

This role sustains EPI and Implant manufacturing modules by reviewing, troubleshooting, and dispositioning aberrant lots and process excursions in the fab. The technician spends the majority of each shift working hands‑on in the semiconductor cleanroom, directly supporting tools and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring production line health through SPC data, tool alarms, and process indicators, and taking action or escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Focusing on identifying root causes of process deviations and partnering with engineers to implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintains technical documentation, specifications, and standard operating procedures.

  • Supporting EPI and/or Implant processes

  • Work independently as the first line of defense for process and engineering issues from operations

Required Skills:

  • Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume, fast‑paced semiconductor manufacturing environment

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including clear escalation to engineers when issues exceed technician scope

  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics, materials, and wafer fabrication fundamentals

  • Hands‑on wafer fabrication experience, including sustained work in a semiconductor cleanroom for the majority of the shift

  • Familiarity with SPC concepts, charts, methods, and terminology, including responding to SPC‑based excursions

  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, processes, and technologies while adapting to changing factory priorities

Experience & Education:

  • 10+ years of overall semiconductor manufacturing experience, with at least 5+ years in a process technician or process‑support role or equivalent

  • Required: High school diploma or GED  

  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in a technical discipline

Shift

  • This is a front‑half day shift working compressed days, 12-hour shifts.
