Overview

The Chief Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for orchestrating daily workflow within the Imaging Department. Delegates staff as needed per work volume. Acts as a liaison between staff and the Director of Imaging to address daily issues that may arise. 聽Performs imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and departmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and transports patients as necessary.
  • Prepares imaging equipment, room, and images as needed for interpretation. Verifies and completes studies in RIS/PACS. Reviews PACS for broken/unlinked studies and takes steps to resolve the issues. Reviews send que periodically to ensure studies are going to Radiologist worklist.
  • Supervises and maintains that radiology services are in compliance with standards established by the hospital, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement for the Imaging Department.
  • Oversees training and staff development in the Imaging Department ensuring all employees receive proper orientation.
  • Oversees departmental supplies.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Collects student documents and supplies them to college designee. Oversees students as needed.
  • Monitors the quality of work performed by staff and makes recommendations to improve quality.
  • Coordinates workflow eliminating unnecessary delays for the patients and establishing priorities for patient exams and treatments, as evidence by direct observation and feedback from others.
  • Assures that all medications, emergency drug boxes and crash carts are surveyed and appropriate documentation is maintained, as evidence by logs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make difficult decisions and communicates in a positive manner, as evidence by direct supervision.
  • Maintains a professional image and role modeling behavior, as evidence by direct observation and feedback from others.
  • Develops and maintains a positive attitude as evidence by direct observation and feedback from others.
  • Demonstrates understanding of accreditation standards including Health Department, DNV, State of WV, OSHA, and other governing bodies.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of AMA approved school of radiologic technology
  • Maintains registry requirements with ARRT
  • Preferred Bachelor鈥檚 Degree in Radiologic Science, Liberal Arts (BA), or healthcare related field

Licensure

  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, West Virginia State Licensure, and BLS certified.

Minimum Work Experience
