How you’ll contributeÂ
As an Endoscopy Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care by:
- Prioritizing patient safety and infection prevention through adherence to hospital policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and infection control standards.
- Providing compassionate patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), including assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs as directed, and ensuring patients are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- Preparing procedure rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment for endoscopic procedures, including endoscopes, processors, ERBE equipment, irrigation systems, and automated endoscope reprocessors (AERs).
- Supporting physicians, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other members of the care team by anticipating and responding to procedural and patient care needs.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopy equipment and the procedure environment in accordance with established policies and manufacturer guidelines, including endoscopes, processors, ERBE equipment, irrigation systems, and AERs.
- Maintaining procedure room readiness through efficient room turnover, stocking and organizing supplies, removal of waste and soiled linen, and proper maintenance of transport and oxygen equipment.
- Assisting with the safe lifting, positioning, and transport of patients and equipment while promoting patient comfort and safety.
- Participating in quality assurance, performance improvement, and infection prevention activities to support exceptional patient outcomes.
- Communicating effectively with interdisciplinary team members and promptly reporting patient, safety, equipment, or operational concerns.

What we’re looking for
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent – Required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – Required within 30 days of hire.
- Previous relevant healthcare or clinical experience preferred; Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience preferred.
- Patient Safety & Patient-Centered Care: Demonstrates a commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, comfort, dignity, and compassionate care.
- Infection Prevention & Technical Proficiency: Maintains strict adherence to infection prevention practices and demonstrates knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, handling, and maintenance of endoscopy equipment and instruments.
- Teamwork & Communication: Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other healthcare professionals while communicating concerns appropriately and professionally.
- Reliability & Adaptability: Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, dependability, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced procedural environment.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains accuracy, organization, and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
