Overview

This electrical engineering position supports various plant functions at our Trimble County Generating Station. Individual will work on a variety of projects, perform inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and help develop future work plans that support equipment reliability and a safe work environment. This position will be filled based on the successful candidates education and experience level: Engineer I, II, III, or Principal.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies opportunities to improve plant equipment availability and reliability.
  • Performs engineering assignments associated with the design, construction, performance, operation, and maintenance of various plant equipment and systems
  • Effectively manage the full scope of assigned Capital and O&M projects including the adherence to specific safety standards, schedule, budget, and scope. Provide detailed tracking and status updates of projects to management and budget analysts.
  • Prepares and presents reports, requiring self-analysis and recommendations, for related system reliability, compliance and/or engineering activities.
  • Proposes, justifies and manages installation of equipment, structures and devices needed to meet Company goals.  
  • Identifies and manages Company and contract personnel, provides budget, accrual and forecast data.
  • Supports operating and maintenance functions with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, problem identification, problem resolution activities.
  • Participates in business planning and procurement processes to effectively manage risk and prioritize spending based on technical data
  • Examines and determines options, based upon technical knowledge of work required to meet existing and pending NERC Reliability Standards at company sites and facilities, which meet regulatory requirements and which can be integrated into operational processes.
  • Routinely interfaces with other departments regarding reliability compliance issues.  
  • Replies to requests of information and data by NERC and SERC.
  • Directs the activities of coops, bargaining employees and other, as instructed, as they perform various activities including installation or checkout of new equipment, troubleshooting, testing, tuning, etc.
    Performs other duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree ABET Accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology

 

Preferred Qualifications

•Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective.
