Medical Receptionist

New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center (NHOC), a division of Northeast Orthopaedic Alliance (NOA), is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our growing team.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming experience while helping our busy orthopedic practice operate efficiently. What You'll Do
As a Medical Receptionist, you'll help deliver an outstanding patient experience by:
Patient Check-In
- Welcome patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
- Register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and billing information
- Collect co-pays and ensure all required documentation has been received
- Communicate expected wait times and answer general patient questions
- Notify providers of appointment cancellations and no-shows
- Direct patients to the appropriate staff for billing or payment questions
Patient Check-Out
- Review visit documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Schedule follow-up appointments
- Collect patient balances and co-pays
- Assist patients by directing billing questions to the appropriate team members
Office Support
- Process insurance referrals and maintain accurate documentation
- Fax Workers' Compensation forms and other required paperwork
- Retrieve medical records, imaging reports, and other clinical documentation
- Report missed post-operative appointments to physicians and care coordinators
- Send appointment reminders and document patient communications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office
- Support the team with additional administrative duties as needed
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Medical office or healthcare experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right candidate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care

- Ability to sit for extended periods throughout the workday
